walking through the dark alleys of the streets of his beloved country, lee heeseung, the only detective who carried out one man missions, was looking for a highly wanted drug dealer of the underworld.

information had it that the deal was about to happen in an abandoned railway tunnel, and so he reached the entrance of it. the tunnel was definitely not used since a long time, and it was absolutely stinky, a little damp even because of the pipeline running over it. the country's civil engineers were quite something.

he walked slowly, not to cause any trouble. there was nobody inside the tunnel, but he could sense an uninviting presence. there was nobody inside the tunnel, but he was careful not to make his presence known.

he approached a pillar which had '32' written on it, placing his black suitcase on the floor as it leaned onto the pillar. he adjusted his hat and leaned against the cold cement wall, pulling out a cigar.

he knew the smell of the smoke would cause trouble, but he couldn't care less. he had to face them in a few minutes anyway.

as he let out a puff of smoke, he heard shuffling at one corner of the tunnel. he dropped the cigar onto the muddy floor and crushed it dead with his shoe and he stepped towards the sound, slowly.

unconsciously, his hand reached to the back of his belt, wrapping his fingers around the grip of the pistol, his index curling onto the trigger.

he could hear incoherent sounds of a conversation, and could confirm that there were two parties involved, as he neared them.

they stood right behind a cement partition, against which he pressed himself, to get a clear hearing of what they were speaking about. eavesdropping wasn't a good thing but he had to do it.

there was a light emitting, from which he guessed was torch due to the rectilinear light path. it had a hint of red. strange, heeseung thought.

"what's with the torch? does little princess not have a phone to use a flashlight?" a low voice spoke, sounding sarcastic. princess?

"oh? didn't think you were such an imbecile to not know phones can be tracked." a female?

never in his lifetime heeseung thought he'd cross paths with a female drug dealer. who was she anyways?

his head pondered over multiple questions, sidetracking him from their conversation until he heard a gunshot ringing through his ears due to the close proximity of where he was standing.

lee heeseung was bewildered so as to the details of the attack. he heard hurried footsteps, but they weren't panicked ones. it seemed like a getaway shuffle.

he felt the woman walk towards him and he instantly pressed himself against the wall with all his might and he held his breath to go unnoticed.

however, the lady swiftly walked past him. she was wearing a red dress and her pretty feet mounted on pointed heels, a gun holster gracing her thigh, visible through the slit of her dress.

heeseung was taken aback by her presence, nevertheless he quietly looked behind the wall and found the limp, cold body of a man in his thirties.

taking a mental note of his features, heeseung followed the lady to the edge of the tunnel, as quietly as possible.

as he neared the end of it, he could hear the drizzle and could sense the petrichor. the lady tapped her ear, speaking into the bluetooth device which he didn't notice until now.

a motorbike pulled up right next to the track, she immediately stepped into the rain, taking a moment to inhale the fresh surroundings.

her red dress was starting to get tainted by droplets of water, turning it into a darker shade, her loose hair sticking to her bare shoulders.

she exhaled and turned around. and lee heeseung felt his world stop. he has never seen someone so beautiful. maybe it was the rain, maybe it was the red dress. maybe it was just her.

the raindrops sinked into her eyelashes, dripping past her cheeks and dropping on her collarbones. water slipped past her soft, red tinted lips, it made her smile.

lee heeseung was staring in awe. staring for too long that no secret detective should be staring at his target. no human in their proper senses would be staring at a murderer.

the gun holster at her thigh, contrasted her whole aura, if he ignored the fact that she had just killed someone. she looked too pleasant to be a part of the underworld.

she exhaled once again and turned around, hopping on the vehicle. and lee heeseung's breath paused as she turned her head around and met his eyes.

he held eye contact with her, not sure if he was challenging her or getting lost in her eyes.

her lips curled into a sinister smirk, which he didn't expect would form on such a pretty face, sending chills down his spine. she grabbed the helmet her driver handed to her, pulled it over her head. giving him one last look, she shut the tinted shield and the machine drove off, leaving heeseung in a swirling mixture of emotions.

did he just find love? or did he face his enemy? nevertheless, she smirked like she knew him inside out, like he would snap into nothing in her presence and like he had nothing over her.

but lee heeseung, was captivated and allured by her, in every way possible and was already dying to see her again.

Do you think Doflamingo ever loved or genuinely cared about his "family"?

The story makes it pretty clear that Doflamingo never really got to learn what "love" is or what it can possibly mean. He learned very early on to see other human beings as objects which he has the right to use and abuse, and almost everything he does is childish rage and retaliation at having his toys and privileges taken away from him, at being asked to see and treat people as people.

And that extends to his family, biological and "found," whom he will treat with a facsimile of affection right up until the moment they cease to be useful tools for him. His parents when they stop providing him access to toys and slaves, Rosinante when he ruins his plan for the Ope Ope no Mi, and everyone in Dressrosa when he needs to tidy up loose ends.

Who knows how he might have turned out if he'd grown up somewhere where you can't treat people as things, impossible to say, but as a character in One Piece his function is to express the naked horror of the World Noble worldview - hence how his power is puppet strings, hence how he operates a country where he turns people into toys for him to play with, etc. This is also why I call him childish: for all his mafia boss pretensions, everything he does is expressed in childish entitlement to other people's bodies.

Doflamingo is the ethos of the Celestial Dragons manifested into a person. That is why he is evil.

A question: so I was talking with @chaotikanvas, and she mentioned that there's an Sleuth Jesters AU in which Sun and Moon stayed with Eclipse after he became a Mob Boss, and in which he spoils them both because they're his family and now he has the power to do so. That's roughly how she explained it to me, so now I am REQUIRED to ask:

Can you tell me more about this AU?

Where can I read more about it, if there have been posts about it? (Like, how do I look for it?)

I love this AU idea because it so wholesome (even if Eclipse uses the wrong methods to show his love for his family). It has already sparked so MUCH inspiration in me!

Heya, babe! Ahhh, it's been a hot minute since this AU has popped up and I'm so happy you enjoy it!

Yes, it's called Our Vigilante and this tag is the gist of it (I tried finding my initial post talking about it but searching through my tumblr without a specific tag is like looking for a needle in a haystack so you'll have to bear with me alsdjfas)

More or less, the AU explores the dynamic of the celestial brothers staying close and taking care of each other with the added dilemma of Sun and Moon being conscientious objectors to their older brother's criminal empire but regardless, still benefiting from Eclipse's illegal activities. It's a standoff but the brothers work and live together, though Sun and Moon are very much sheltered from the bloodier side of things.

The vigilante sets their sights on Sun and Moon and intends to use them as stepping stones to finding a way to take out Eclipse's gang from the inside out, but with their seduction of the younger brothers, the vigilante discovers that Sun and Moon are quite charming and sweet and desperately trying to hide the fact that they're technically gangsters (which makes Y/N laugh). It's a bit complicated with the vigilante well aware of Sun's and Moon's relation to the mafia boss but the boys are doing everything they can to convince this seemingly lovely little person that they're just average, totally not mobsters, animatronics.

Lots of shenanigans and hijinks ensue. The vigilante catches feelings while growing worst about 'seducing' these brothers whom they are actually growing to truly care about. Sun and Moon become wild with worry that their beau will figure out that they're not so squeaky clean and turn away from them, but, everyone's got secrets, some not so well kept, and others neatly tucked away.

Meanwhile, Eclipse and the vigilante are still at each other's throats but will drop anything at a dime if Sun or Moon are in trouble and need to be bailed out. The vigilante loathes having to work with the mafia boss, but they'll hold their tongue just until they know for certain that one of their favorite gangsters is safe and sound. Eclipse, of course, is not one to squander opportunities and uses every second he has to convince the vigilante to join him.

Eclipse wants the vigilante, and discovering that they have a fondness for his younger brothers is a pretty tool of leverage he deems fit to use as he wants—and Y/N will agree with him, one way or the other.

As for the Fae AU, I'd love to write a fanfic—I've already got a few different ideas for it now, and how to go about it! I still gotta get the last episode of Cryptid Sightings out and then tackle Deep Dreams 2, but mmm, I'd love to maybe write a first chapter just to get it out there!

Hunter leads a kind of ‘meh’ life. He has loving friends Rosie, Duna, and Holt, is well-respected by most of the town, and has been practicing music with his newly formed band. The only thorn in his side? His parents. It’s no secret that they were not meant for one another. His dad has no spine and his mother is a hypocrite. Hunter usually has to wonder that whatever celestial force got them together must have made a mistake. One of the few things that seem to be going right is his mentorship to Dr. Diggins. Yeah, the experiments don’t make sense and the good doctor may be breaking a few legal safety laws, but he at least has a leg up on escaping whatever pit his home life is. However, Hunter gets thrown through a loop after a horrible night of stolen plutonium, shooting mafia members, and getaway car via time machine… Now he finds himself back in time where his parents are still in high school, his dad’s boss a school bully, Dr. Diggins with a smidge more funding, AND his mom making uncomfortable advances towards him. Hunter must fix all the time anomalies he’s made and find a way BACK TO THE FUTURE!

I created a new DCA AU!

It’s basically an AU where Sun and Moon be part of the mafia and they are, like, in their 40s and kind of old school meaning they aren’t fond of the newest generation of animatronics.

(Excuse the clothes, I suck at them)

Sun is the big boss, acting cold, strict and a bit cruel to those who don’t follow the rules and only being mildly caring to currently one person, who is Moon who is his right hand man, he is silent, unpredictable and loyal to his brother but also has a soft, gentle and caring side.

And here we have the lil complications Sun and Moon have recently acquired. These are Dusk and Dawn, some new generation animatronic twins who ended up in the Celestial Brothers’ possession. Not sure how they would have gotten them, still working out stuff cause I literally JUST made this AU. I am not sure which one I should call Dusk and who to call Dawn so rn Imma call them Boy and Girl. Boy is the one with the lower ponytail, a bit of a crybaby, clingy and hates loud noises while his sister, Girl, is the one with the high ponytail and the complete opposite of her twin, she is bold, chaotic and is the loudest lil thing she is.

Moon was assigned to keep an eye on them so the twins warm up to him sooner and he warms up to them as well while Sun doesn’t really like them at first.

This AU is a WIP but I wanted to share the concepts cause why the hell not? I find it fun. Don’t know what to call it just yet so it’ll be referred to as Mafia Children AU for the time being.

I also wanna talk a bit about the characters and stuff before I finish up Chapter 4 of this fanfic, since it's coming to a close. Aaaaaand to perhaps drop some hints about what could possibly come, for those of y'all wanting to guess how this goes down.

Word vomit, so aaaaa, under the cut-

[Eclipse, the Honored Police Chief] The evidently socially awkward prototype animatronic who towers around 9'5" tall, struggles to get through some doorways and some conversations, specifically from a detective that he accidentally managed to befriend three years ago. He's an auto-repurposed celestial animatronic that earned a spot in the police force when he was paving a new way of life for himself and his family. While some things didn't happen the way he wanted it to, he intends to spend the rest of his life atoning for all the poor decisions he's made.

[Sun, the Sadistic Mafia Boss] The flamboyant and childish-facading celestial animatronic, standing about 8~ foot tall, loves teasing and talking down condescendingly about people. Was a former childcare animatronic, along with his family, until an incident happened where his family had to survive on the streets. One day, it was just him and his younger brother and he now bears a seething hatred for the naturally exalted humans who once called his kind a sort of slave. He plans to take over the city that forsaken them, not letting anything, human or animatronic, stop him.

[Moon, the Sinister Mafia Boss] The more level-headed, but torture-happy celestial animatronic, around the same height as his second brother. Is the youngest of his family, however, bears the aura of someone with high authority. Swore to protect his remaining brother with his life, while also keeping him in check. Though, he also needs to let his tendencies out every now and then, letting them loose on those who have wronged them. Is convinced that what they're doing is correct.

[Y/N, the Mysterious Rookie Detective] A detective who magically appeared in the force one day and was hired due to the incompetence of the other officers. Was a diligent worker who got things done on time, so they were favored to stay. Doesn't speak much, and if they do, they're short, clipped sentences with a blank face and vague gestures. Humans and animatronics alike cannot detect them approaching for some reason, and their isolated self allows plenty of rumors to swirl about them. They bear two guns that they never seem to remove. Gained an odd friendship with their police chief and the attention of two unruly celestial animatronics.

Eclipse's Thoughts on the Others Sun; What he thinks of me is my own fault. I miss him. Moon; The hope I have with him shouldn't be fed. I miss him. Y/N; I should only look at them as a friend or a close confidant.

Sun's Thoughts on the Others Eclipse; Betrayal. How dare he. You don't deserve to live. Moon; The only one I have left. Please don't leave me. Y/N; You're just like me, I know it. Stay away from him.

Y/N's Thoughts on the Others Eclipse; He's changing. My body reacts to him. I've yet to know why. Sun; Annoying. Dances around the subject too much. Moon; Annoying. Underestimates not even in a smart way.

the 7 rings would be so intresting (based on helluva, and other media)

💙The Pride Ring - blue sky, the top layer (mostly sinners) divided by rank poor, rich, overlords. The ring is mostly used for buisness and sinners who fall in this ring cant leave.

💛The Greed Ring - (dark yellow sky, banks, mostly mafia, mostly overrun by demon born mobs, not a nice place, violenet, and a lot of money, CEOs, retailers, influencers, managers, mostly make up the sinner count, Mammon would not care for its inhabitants)

🧡The Envy ring - (moslty water, envy demons who are mostly water demons, nothing much here, smells like chlorine, and has beaches, orannge sky, no sinners)

💚the wrath ring (dark green skys, sandy mostly desserted, demon born, mostly farmers, no sinners)

💓lust ring (pinkish sky), casinos, strip clubs, clubs, bars, hotels, the works, sinners do live here, and mostly demons come here to have fun..busy as it gets Asmodeus makes a few apperances.

❤️Gluttony - food and drink stalls, a reddish sky, rumour has it that the demon Beelzebub makes only a few appearances, and she does not like people left out, she also claims to drug people up, also the only hospital that the whole of hell)

💜sloth ring - purplish sky, smalls pf mould and damp, sinners are normally tortured here, demon borns normally make a living selling medication, in additoon, its rumoured that that the realm was taken over by Belphegor's 4th cousin Belial for a while until Belphegor took it back after 300 years, since then, the realm has been mostly distroyed and no one is bothered to fix it up

🩶the devildom - top layer, always dark, 3 cities, a top University, humans, witches, demons, government, elite, some higher class demons make buisness here, the royal family demons live here, they never went to hell, until the brothers showed up, and gave them the place. The place can be accessed via an elvator which connects the 13 rings of hell, and the human world, did connect the Celestial realm but been "out of order" one human uses it frequently

Well I haven't seen Helluva Boss or anything related therein, but this looks like a really cool Obey Me au idea!

You've really gone into some detail here, anon! It sounds like a concept you've been thinking about for a while. My suggestion is always going to be to write it because that's my default mode of creation lol. But you should explore it however you like!

Personally I think you can do whatever you want with canon divergent ideas like this - make them as dark as you like. That's the fun part about such things, you get to make them your own. It's up to you how dark you want to go.

I might not be the best person to bounce darkness off of as I tend to fluff everything up lol! That certainly doesn't mean I can't get angsty or dark when needed, though. While Obey Me is essentially a lighthearted otome game, you could easily take it into darker places considering the whole hell angle and everything.

It does remind me of the circles of hell from Dante, which is a concept that's been around for a while. Though I've never read anything where it was more fully fleshed out or in a more modern setting. But it's an interesting idea to have each section belong to one of the brothers, especially considering they don't necessarily bother to do anything with them. Like it sounds like the rings will function just fine without their presence? Who ruled over them before the brothers fell? Or did they just not exist yet?

A Superhero/Comics Idea I had. I might never do anything with it, so I'm sharing it here (and the funny thing is: I wrote these when comics aren't even my biggest hyperfixation right now. At least, I don't think they are. I guess I could be wrong or something):

William Blake was a destitute, homeless 49 year old man. He used to be a famous lawyer, but he lost everything in a big scandal. He was revealed to have been incredibly corrupt, willing to defend anyone for the right price. But eventually, someone leaks a tape of his private interview with a big mafia boss. It ruined him. he lost his job, his house, his wife, kids, etc. Now he wanders the streets, a decrepit old vagrant.

Around 3 months after losing everything, Mr. Blake runs into one of his old clients. They've come to deal with him. He can't be allowed to stay alive, you see. Otherwise he might rat on them. So an altercation begins to take place. He tries to fight, but he's simply too weak to do much fighting. He's overpowered, beaten to within an inch of his life, and left for dead. But alas, this was not the end for poor William Blake.

For when William Blake dies, a higher power comes a calling. They give him an edict: he cannot ascend to Heaven until he learns the true meaning of compassion. He has commited too many sins to be allowed to ascend to heaven at this moment. But he cannot yet descend to Hell either, because he has not shown himself to be sufficiently irredeemable. So until the gods decide what to do with his soul, he shall be cursed to walk the earth anew.

So the gods tell him quite simply: he shall be allowed to return to life. He shall get a second chance at life. But there is a catch: he shall have powers beyond those of ordinary men. He shall have his soul bonded with that The Shadow Keeper, a being who belongs neither to heaven or hell, but to the realm between. He shall be William Blake's guide. Together, they shall determine his fate: will.he redeem himself and earn a spot in heaven, or will he fall back into his old ways and end up descending down to hell?

Note: In order to switch from William Blake to the Shadow Keeper, all William Blake needs to do is look into a shard of glass which serves as a gateway between earth and the realm between. They say it used to be a part of a larger mirror, but that was long ago now. Today, fragments of the gateway are scattered all across earth.

The true dilemma of Blake's story is that he is still being silently watched by the gods. He is struggling between celestial forces, each trying to him pull him towards their sphere of influence. The only question is: where will William Blake end up? Will he embrace the light, learn about compassion and finally ascend to Heaven? Or will he be corrupted by his own inner demons and descend to Hell?
